Medibank Private's Visitors Cover Packages

Thses are designed for international visitors, temporary residents, residents of Norfolk Island, and other residents in Australia who are not eligible for full Medicare entitlements.

Optimal Visitors Cover:

Optimal Visitors Cover is one of Medibank Private’s most comprehensive Visitors Cover, providing protection for a range of hospital, medical and extras services.

Essential Visitors Cover:

With Essential Visitors Cover members receive great value hospital, medical and extras cover and the hospital Excess helps to reduce premiums.

Basic Visitors Cover:

Basic Visitors Cover provides limited hospital and medical cover. This cover is not suitable for visitors while on a Student visa, but is ideal for students who have completed their study and are on a bridging visa, waiting for permanent residency. This product is designed for those who are under 35 years of age and are healthy.

Medibank Private's Working Visa Health Insurance

This is designed for visitors who are in Australia for business purposes or are sponsored by an employer and who are not eligible for full Medicare benefits.

Working Visa Health Insurance is designed for visitors who are in Insurance Australia for business purposes or are sponsored by an employer. Why do you need OSHC?

It is a condition of your student visa that you have private health insurance for the duration of your stay in Australia.

OSHC will help you pay for medical and hospital care that you may need while studying in Australia and will contribute towards the cost of most prescription medicines (up to applicable limits), as well as medically necessary ambulance transport.

Who is covered?

You can choose OSHC either as a single or family:
